Centre member talks to Respiratory Futures about crowdsourcing study ‘My Asthma Story’

My Asthma Story
17 Oct 2016

My Asthma Story – led by PPI Research Fellow, Melissa Goodbourn – is a study aiming to collect people’s ideas about what works for them in preventing asthma attacks. Launching the study in March 2016, the team has used both traditional and crowdsourcing methods, learning important lessons about digital health research along the way.

Melissa recently reflected on the digital research element of the study in an interview with Respiratory Futures, highlighting the necessity for multidisciplinary collaboration:

“It takes time to build an on-line presence and encourage participation in a study. The initial planning and development is intensive and requires a research team with skills in website development, graphic design, and digital engagement”
