ARRISA-UK - calling Scottish GP practices!

Recruitment for the ARRISA-UK study is progressing well.  204 primary care practices across England, Wales and Scotland have signed up so far.

The ARRISA team, based at the University of East Anglia, are looking for more practices - especially across Scotland.

The Study needs GP practices that are:

  • using Vision, EMISWeb(not PCS) or SystmOne
  • of any size
  • in urban or rural areas –including remote places if you have a reasonable internet connection!
  • …. keen to take part!

Note that you don’t need to recruit individual patients or do any patient visits for this study.

Benefits to practices include:

  • Research cost payments of £1266 (intervention) or £600 (control)
  • Online training package available to practice staff
  • Potential for raising awareness of at-risk asthma patients, and improved team working between clinicians, reception and administrative staff

How can you get involved?

  1. Practices can express interest in participating in ARRISA-UK by contacting the study team or their regional research office. OR – skip straight to step 2 if you prefer!
  2. A practice contact (preferably asthma lead) completes an online survey
